IFIC Canada invites you to our upcoming session on Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) and the application to population health management, health equity, social prescribing and integrated care. IFIC Canada is proud to welcome esteemed ABCD practitioner and thought leader Cormack Russell as the featured speaker.

Cormac is the Managing Director of Nurture Development and a faculty member of the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Institute at Northwestern University, Chicago. He has trained communities, agencies, NGOs and governments in ABCD and other strengths-based approaches in Kenya, Southern Sudan, South Africa, the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia.

Asset Based Community Development approach focuses on the strengths, resources and capabilities within communities. As opposed to imposing change and defining outcomes for communities, an ABCD approach empowers communities to define and be the drivers of their own social, economic, environmental, and political change. This program will focus on ACBD and its application to advancing integrated health and social care, social prescribing and outcomes that are defined by the community. Through the program, participants will learn about the types of assets that are critical for enhancing local well-being and the loci of change. Participants will complete the session with the knowledge to put theory into meaningful practice.

IFIC Canada, the North American Centre for Integrated Care, aims to create a platform to build the capabilities of individuals and organizations in advancing Integrated Care. IFIC Canada strives to connect its community to local and global experts, through webinar sessions, video conferences, interviews, international knowledge exchanges, and resources.

IFIC Canada's co-directors, Jodeme Goldhar and Walter Wodchis, look forward to hosting the upcoming Building Our Collective Capacity course with speaker Cormac Russell.
