Presented by Shazeen Suleman Learning objectives: • Recognize the importance of understanding the historical, cultural and geo-political context in newcomer children arriving from conflict zones, including recent events. • Identify key pieces on history and physical examination, including infectious disease screening, nutritional, immunizations and developmental. • Develop an awareness of the current resettlement process and challenges for resettled refugees and refugee claimants arriving in Canada. This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Paediatric Society for a maximum of 1 credit hour.
