This webinar will highlight new and ongoing research on online gambling behaviours and associations with mental health and substance use indicators, with added attention to the role of financial motivations and concerns. Shared findings will include results from a recent Canadian study of adults who gamble online, suggesting links between online gambling during the COVID-19 pandemic and elevated mental health problems, negative impacts on household income, and more. Evidence-informed considerations for mental health and substance use treatment service providers will be shared.
