Exploring perspectives at the crossroads of climate change and health

With Kimberly Fairman – Executive Director, Institute for Circumpolar Health Research, Elder Francois Paulette – Elder Advisor, Institute for Circumpolar Health Research and Sila Rogan – MD Candidate at University of British Columbia.

There’s a lot to discuss at the intersection of climate change and healthcare. Climate change is a growing threat with wide ranging impacts on our health. And while healthcare adapts to meet these needs and challenges, it also accounts for nearly 5% of greenhouse gas emissions in Canada. Last year, Canada formally committed to climate resilient and low carbon sustainable health systems under the COP26 Health Programme to help tackle these challenges.

Digging deeper there’s more to this story – including how communities, sectors and individuals are becoming more resilient and adapting to climate change through innovation. We’ll be shining a light on these promising initiatives, tools and perspectives that are helping to move the dial with innovators in this space.
