The Doctoral Epidemiology Training Association (DELTA) would like to invite you to a guest lecture on March 8th (12-1pm) via Zoom.

The (Responsible) Use of Race Data in Social Epidemiology
Dr. Lorraine T. Dean, ScD

Dr. Dean is an Associate Professor in Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. As a social epidemiologist, her work focuses on privilege and health, including social (racism, discrimination, social capital) and economic (consumer credit, socioeconomic position) determinants of disparities in cancer and HIV. She has led several studies as PI of an NIH K01, NIAID R21, NINR R21, NIH F31, and Center for AIDS Research grants. She holds a doctorate from Harvard School of Public Health and was a J. William Fulbright program awardee to Venezuela.

Her presentation will focus on the measurement of race from a social epidemiology lens, and she will provide an overview of best practices for the responsible use of race-based data in epidemiology. This is a fantastic webinar that you will not want to miss, so please do join us (virtually) on March 8 from 12-1pm on Zoom.

Zoom link to be provided 24 hours in advance to those who RSVP.
